IKEA has released its sustainability strategy entitled “People & Planet Positive”, and is using it to drive innovation as well as transform its business, steer investment, and open up new opportunities. Its end-goal is to support the Paris Agreement in becoming climate positive by 2030 through the reduction of GHG-emissions whilst still expanding the company.

Implementing the GLEC Framework at Kemira

Finnish chemical company Kemira implemented the GLEC Framework as a methodology to determine its outbound logistics emissions in just six months. The key to its success was taking a systematic yet pragmatic approach, working with a team of university students to build an in-house system to calculate and report emissions. This complemented advice from Smart Freight Centre on how to best apply the GLEC Framework to Kemira’s logistics operations.
Flexport: Unified methodology in logistics emissions calculation tool through SFC Accreditation to the GLEC Framework

Flexport’s Carbon Calculator allows companies to easily assess the greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint from the transportation of their goods across all modes. To promote a unified methodology in the calculation outputs, and to respond to increased demand from their customers, Flexport’s tool was accredited by Smart Freight Centre (SFC). All calculated emissions produced by Flexport’s technology are in conformance with the GLEC Framework.
