Tata Steel in Europe has the ambition of making CO2 neutral steel by 2050 at the latest. In the Netherlands, Tata Steel is committed to reducing CO2 emissions between 30-40% by 2030. Tata Steel has announced plans to pursue a fully sustainable future for its steelworks in IJmuiden, the Netherlands, by adopting a hydrogen route. This involves the introduction of direct reduced iron (DRI) technology which can make iron using natural gas or hydrogen, which is then converted to steel in one or more electric furnaces to be invested in the future.

This ambition is including P&G’s Inbound and Outbound Transportation Footprint of ∼3.9 MM tonnes CO2e/year. Including the intermediate goal to improve transportation intensity 50% by 2030, versus a 2020 baseline.

OIA Global is automating GLEC-conformant GHG emission calculations through interface with SFC-Accredited calculation tool

OIA has implemented an interface from an SFC-Accredited tool provider to calculate and track greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data and leverage available information in its transportation management system (TMS). This will deliver automated, accurate and timely reporting on freight transport (Scope 3) emissions, in accordance with the GLEC Framework, allowing for better informed decision making and performance optimization.
