Launch of the Fashion & Beauty Community
Smart Freight Centre introduced the Fashion & Beauty Community, a first-of-its-kind initiative to help fashion brands collaborate on sustainable logistics, share best practices, and drive decarbonization. This community will serve as a blueprint for future industry-specific initiatives within SFC.

iLEAP Project Pre-Release of v1 Tech Specs
A major milestone in data-driven logistics decarbonization, Smart Freight Centre announced the pre-release of v1 of the iLEAP tech specifications, ahead of the official V1 launch in April. In partnership with SINE Foundation (technical partner), Open Logistics Foundation, and WBCSD (scaling partners), iLEAP will enable seamless data exchange to enhance procurement, planning, and sustainability strategies.

Advancing Air Pollutant Emissions Integration into the GLEC Framework
Smart Freight Centre’s CEO Christoph Wolff and Founder Sophie Punte joined experts from Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and Clean Air Fund (CAF) for a productive discussion on integrating air pollutant emissions (Black Carbon, PM10, PM2.5) into the GLEC Framework.

Smart Freight Centre India officially launched India-specific GLEC values—a major step toward standardizing freight emissions accounting in India.
Developed in collaboration with the TCI-IIMB Supply Chain Sustainability Lab at IIM Bangalore, this initiative aligns with global best practices in GHG emissions tracking while addressing India’s unique industry needs—a key milestone in advancing freight sustainability in the region.
Deep-Sea Ro-Ro Ship GHG Emission Calculation Methods Published
One year after launching the Global Ro-Ro Community, Smart Freight Centre has published the Deep-Sea Ro-Ro Ship Greenhouse Gas Emission Intensity Calculation Methods, providing a standardized framework for measuring and reducing emissions in Ro-Ro shipping.

East Africa Study Tour
As part of Smart Freight Week 2025, an East African delegation took part in a study tour that was part of the Green Freight Support Program in Eastern Africa, hosted by Kuehne Climate Center, reinforcing the global effort to advance sustainable freight solutions. Key highlights included:

- Discussions with the Dutch government – Exploring public-private partnerships for freight decarbonization
- Port of Amsterdam visit – Closing the tour with insights into alternative fuels and low-carbon logistics strategies
