Zero Emission Freight Initiative Annual Summit 2025：How Technology and Markets Are Driving Zero Emission Freight Transformation

Smart Freight Centre China, as the Secretariat of the Zero Emission Freight Initiative (ZEFI), sincerely invites all stakeholders to participate in the Zero Emission Freight Initiative Annual Summit 2025, which will be held on May 15 at Beijing Jianguo Garden Hotel, China.

With the theme “How Technology and Markets Are Driving Zero Emission Freight Transformation,” the summit will focus on domestic and international policy trends, explore cutting-edge technologies and commercialization pathways, share progress in the promotion and application of new energy heavy-duty trucks, and showcase innovative practices from zero emission freight corridors and case studies on the deployment of zero emission trucks.

From 2022 to 2024, China has continued to lead the world in the zero-emission transformation of road freight. In 2024, new energy trucks market penetration exceeded 25%, signaling a shift from policy-driven to a dual-engine approach powered by technology and markets. However, the large-scale deployment of new energy heavy-duty trucks in medium- and long-haul freight remains constrained by multiple challenges. There is an urgent need to establish a collaborative mechanism across the entire industry chain, including vehicle R&D, energy infrastructure, and operational scenarios. Through technological innovation, standard system development, and business model exploration, China aims to systematically advance pilot applications of new energy heavy-duty trucks in long-haul logistics.

The summit will be conducted in both English and Chinese, and we look forward to discussing the latest progress in zero emission road freight. The event aims to bring together stakeholders across the logistics and freight ecosystem to explore opportunities and challenges for the future.
