Driving decarbonization in air freight and logistics

The journey toward sustainable air freight requires collaboration and innovation across the sector. From increasing transparency in greenhouse gas emissions to adopting cutting-edge solutions, we bring together a portfolio of programs and trainings to support organizations in decarbonizing air transport. Achieving substantial emissions reductions will depend on system-wide improvements—boosting utilization rates, transitioning fleets to newer, more efficient aircraft, and scaling sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) adoption, supported by a robust book-and-claim framework. Explore how these solutions can empower your organization to make meaningful progress, enhance emissions performance, and build a resilient, low-carbon air freight network.

Programs

Clean Air Transport

SFC’s Clean Air Transport program aims to unite first movers on sustainable aviation in the freight sector, leveraging increased transparency of the GHG emissions from air freight services to drive decarbonization measures across the air transport sector. Air freight decarbonization will depend on increased utilization rates within the system as a whole, ongoing fleet renewal towards newer, more efficient aircraft, and a significant ramp up of SAF availability and use in the market, supported by a common and well-accepted book and claim framework (until SAF use is the norm).

Trainings

Aviation Emissions Calculation in Practice

This workshop series focuses on the calculation and reduction of emissions in aviation from a holistic perspective that takes into account emissions accounting, alternative fuels, and Science-Based Targets.
