Emissions Accounting
Smart Freight Centre brings together solutions that tackle key challenges in logistics emissions management. From providing standardized tools to generate transparent, comparable data, to promoting best practices for emissions reduction, our programs and resources make it easier for companies to account for and share their logistics emissions. By fostering collaboration and delivering frameworks like the GLEC Framework, we support organizations in making emissions tracking more accurate, accessible, and impactful for a sustainable future.
Programs
Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC)
The Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) is our program uniting companies and NGOs to drive widespread, transparent, and consistent calculation and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Developed to support multinationals and their suppliers, the GLEC Framework provides a harmonized, efficient, and reliable approach to calculating and reporting logistics emissions.
Data & Digitalization Program
Smart Freight Centre’s Digitalization Program is focused on leveraging digital solutions to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of logistics emissions data. By supporting the adoption of standardized digital tools, data exchange practices, and automation, we help companies streamline emissions tracking and reporting.
Conformity Assessment Scheme
Smart Freight Centre’s Conformity Assessment Scheme ensures companies can trust that their logistics emissions calculations meet industry standards. Through independent assessment and certification, this program verifies that emissions calculations align with the GLEC Framework.
Book & Claim Community
The Book & Claim Community, supported by Smart Freight Centre, promotes a flexible, credible model for sourcing sustainable fuels across supply chains. By decoupling the physical flow of goods from the purchase of sustainability attributes, this model enables companies to invest in sustainable practices, helping them meet emissions reduction goals while fostering a transparent and impactful supply chain.
Accreditation
Smart Freight Centre’s Accreditation Program enables tools and service providers to demonstrate that their logistics emissions calculations align with the industry-standard GLEC Framework. By choosing an SFC Accredited partner, companies can trust that their logistics emissions are calculated and reported accurately, meeting the rigorous methodological and reporting standards set by SFC.
