Freight Buyers Communities
These are industry-specific communities that bring together shipper members to share knowledge, align on priorities, and take joint action toward decarbonizing freight and logistics:
All these communities combine peer-led contributions with insights from SFC experts, ensuring sessions are both practical and informed by the latest developments.
Our Mission
The communities foster alignment, enable targeted knowledge sharing, and support innovation across and within industries. By connecting shippers facing similar challenges, we aim to accelerate action that reduces carbon emissions in freight and logistics and creates opportunities for collaboration on sustainable solutions.

Important Milestones Hit From the Beginning of This Workstream
We have launched three communities during Smart Freight Week 2025 and began with surveys to define member priorities. Key activities include:
- Shipper Circle: session on Unlocking the Power of Primary Data
- Fashion & Beauty: sessions on Book & Claim and Management Performance Best Practices; launch of working groups on Best Practices, Air Freight, and Standardization
- Pharma & Healthcare: sessions on Air-to-Ocean Strategies and Emissions Accounting and Tools
Across all communities, members have benefited from both peer-led discussions and expert-supported insights, with a growing emphasis on delivering tangible results.
Hear From Our Members
I love how SFC is bringing people together and letting them learn from each other.
I appreciate the opportunity to engage with other shippers in the same boat. It has been very valuable to make those network connections
