Policy Network

What Is Policy Workstream

FEC is dedicated to fostering a supply side regulatory framework globally, that accelerates road freight electrification. With technical expertise and partnerships across diverse shippers, LSPs, and carriers, we work closely with policymakers and partner organizations to shape impactful vehicle regulations such as CO2 emissions standards for HDVs in the EU, USA EPA’s Phase 3 GHG standards for HDVs, and MHDV regulations in India. Our commitment also extends to developing regulations that enable safe truck parking and charging infrastructure, aligning with the EU's Green Deal targets. Through research initiatives, FEC contributes to research projects that support the research community and the public sector in design of research programs that achieve certifiable zero-emission road freight transport.

India is in the process of developing its first supply-side regulations for MHDVs focused on GHG emissions and fuel efficiency. Draft regulations are expected to be available for public consultation by February 2025. FEC is coordinating a technical briefing with our technical partners to better understand these regulations and its impact on the logistics community
