Library
Welcome to SFC’s Library
The SFC Library is your central resource for a wide range of documents essential for understanding and applying our standards and practices. Here, you will find guidance and normative documents, as well as reports, whitepapers, templates, forms, procedures, and other key publications that support sustainable freight management. All of our materials are protected by copyright, and while we allow their use in certain circumstances, we retain full rights over their content.
Most uses of SFC guidance documents do not require specific permission from us, provided acknowledgment of the source is made. This document indicates which use of our guidance documents require written permission from us.
The use of SFC normative (indicated with “specification” in title) documents is more controlled, particularly for Validation and Verification Bodies - VVBs. The rules for their use are described in the same document mentioned above.
SAF Insights – A Practical Guide for Freight and Aviation Stakeholders
This publication explains what SAF is, where it stands today, and how companies can integrate it credibly into emissions reporting. It also acts an entry point for airlines, freight forwarders, shippers, policymakers, and anyone committed to aviation decarbonization.
Chinese Version of Measuring and Reporting the Carbon Footprint of Electric Freight Vehicle Operations Whitepaper
《电动货车运营碳足迹核算与报告白皮书(中文翻译与补充版)》, aligned with ISO 14083 and GLEC Framework v3, focuses on guiding the measurement and reporting of operational emissions from electric freight vehicles within established greenhouse gas emission frameworks, assuming a foundational understanding of ISO 14083. For the Chinese edition, SFC China team has added supplementary notes on two primary types of China’s electricity emission factors, and a localized case study based on typical road freight scenarios in China.
MBM-GUID-001 Integrity Measures and Constraints Worksheet v01.pdf
This Worksheet is a tool for the Emission Reporter (ER) to document their approach to the MBM's Integrity Measures and Constraints and a tool to facilitate the Validation & Verification Body's (VVB) review.
SFC INTERPRETATIONS PUBLIC SUMMARY
This document provides formal interpretations of key requirements within SFC’s normative structure, including guidance on the GLEC Framework, Market-Based Measures (MBM), and emissions reporting practices. It supports transparency and consistency in climate action across the freight sector and is intended for use by Members, Approved Validation and Verification Bodies, and Listed Emissions Reporters under the SFC Conformity Assessment Scheme.
GLEC Framework for Logistics Emissions Accounting and Reporting version 3.1 Chinese
Freight transportation and logistics activities currently contribute 8‒10% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and demand for freight transport is expected to almost triple by 2050, according to the International Transport Forum. To meet the Climate Targets of the United Nations’ Paris Agreement, it is crucial to improve the efficiency of freight transport and reduce transport-related emissions. A concerted global effort is necessary to achieve goals. The GLEC Framework v3.1 supports you in your efforts and contribution to reaching these goals.
China Default GHG Emission Values V1.1
This document provides the 1st version of the default values for “well-to-wheel” (WTW) fuel emission factors and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity for China road transport. It is developed by Smart Freight Centre China and Technical Partners, following the basic requirements of ISO 14083 and GLEC Framework v3.1. It provides a summary of the default values, as well as a brief description of the methodologies, sources, and gap analysis.
