European businesses call for full implementation of the Eurovignette Directive exemption power for zero-emission trucks

Truck manufacturers, fleets, charge point operators, energy companies, financiers, and more business voices have just delivered a joint letter to EU Transport Ministers. Their message is clear: transitioning to ZETs is crucial for Europe to maintain its industrial leadership in the global transport sector. Through this joint letter they call on Member States for the full implementation of Eurovignette Directive including toll exemptions for ZETs, CO₂-based road charging and direct revenues toward a fair transition.

In June 2025 Smart Freight Centre (SFC), PragmaCharge, and the Polish Association for New Mobility (PSNM) launched the Poland-Germany Zero Emission Road Freight Corridor Consortium to facilitate the roll out of heavy-duty electric trucks along Poland’s busiest trucking corridors, including routes into Germany.

The e-Dutra Coalition is a public–private partnership launched during COP30 to transform freight transport along Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro–São Paulo corridor into the country’s first zero-emission highway. Bringing together leading companies, infrastructure providers, and government partners, the coalition aims to deploy 1,000 electric trucks and a network of high-capacity chargers by 2030. As part of the Laneshift Initiative and the Global Green Road Corridors program, e-Dutra advances Brazil’s leadership in sustainable mobility, improving air quality, reducing carbon emissions, and creating new opportunities for green economic growth.
