The SFC Library is your central resource for a wide range of documents essential for understanding and applying our standards and practices. Here, you will find guidance and normative documents, as well as reports, whitepapers, templates, forms, procedures, and other key publications that support sustainable freight management. All of our materials are protected by copyright, and while we allow their use in certain circumstances, we retain full rights over their content.

Most uses of SFC guidance documents do not require specific permission from us, provided acknowledgment of the source is made. This document indicates which use of our guidance documents require written permission from us.

The use of SFC normative (indicated with “specification” in title) documents is more controlled, particularly for Validation and Verification Bodies - VVBs. The rules for their use are described in the same document mentioned above.

Assurance Fees for VVBs (ASU-FEE-002-2)

This document outlines the Fee Schedule for the SFC CAS, as they apply to Validation and Verification Bodies (VVBs). Fees defined for VVBs as part of the SFC CAS are called Approval Fees.

Assurance Fees for ERs (ASU-FEE-001-2)

This document outlines the Fee Schedule for the SFC CAS, as they apply to Emissions Reporters (ER). Fees defined for ERs as part of the SFC CAS are called Listing Fees.

This document summarizes how the MBM Specification (SFC-SPEC-001-02) compares to Smart Freight Centre´s Voluntary Market Based Measures Framework for Logistics Emissions Accounting and Reporting (MBM Framework, v.1.0, October 2023).

VVB manual - MBM Specification (ASU-PRO-008-2)

This document provides the criteria and procedures under which a Validation and Verification Body (VVB) is approved for the SFC CAS – MBM Specification Scope. It also covers procedures that must be followed by VVBs when providing verification services, as well as for qualification of individual verifiers.

ER manual - MBM Specification (ASU-PRO-007-2)

This document provides the criteria and procedures under which an Emissions Reporter’s (ER) disclosures become accepted under the SFC CAS – MBM Specification Scope. It also covers procedures that must be followed by ERs when preparing their Monitoring Plans and Emissions Reports, ahead of them being independently verified.

Disputes (ASU-PRO-005-2)

This procedure covers disputes that may arise from the SFC CAS, as defined in the key scheme documents. “Disputes” includes both appeals and complaints.
